Sahida Parvin With Mamata Banerjee, CM of West Bengal in Writers Building on 24th May

Shahida talked to TwoCircles.net after she met the CM of West Bengal. She went to the CM office with her father Matiur Rahman and Headmaster of Ramnagar High Madrasa Nawsher Ali on Tuesday in Writers’ Buildings. Local MLA and Minister Sabitri Mitra took the initiative to meet with CM Mamata Banerjee, Shahida told. She is happy to meet with Mamata. She told the CM about the dilapidated road from her village to the Madrasa.

Mamata Banerjee has congratulated Shahida and assured her of government assistance for her future study. Mamata advised her to study higher education at any cost. If she feels any problem she can contact the CM office without any hesitation, Mamata told her.

Talking to TCN, Shahida’s father Matiur Rahman said: “Shahida is my only daughter. I could not afford her education properly. But her hard work earned her the achievement. If she becomes a doctor I think our village will be benefited because there are no medical facilities in and around the village.”

Headmaster of Ramnagar High Madrasa Nawsher Ali talked about Shahida’s performance at the madrasa. He told TCN: “Shahida was admitted in our Madrasa in Class V. She always stood 1st rank in her class. We expected she may stand 1st rank in High Madrasa Examination also and she has done it. We are proud of her. Not only Shahida, in 2005 Murshida Khatun of the same madrasa stood first rank in High Madrasa Examination. Next year Ariff Islam also stood first in 2006. He was also from this Madrasa.”

The Headmaster also said there is no medical facility in the area. The village road leading to school is now muddy. Only one km is dry with Moram (dust of brick). If the road had been concrete more students would come to his Madrasa, said Nawsher Ali.
