New Delhi: Light showers with strong winds Thursday evening cooled the national capital. The met office has forecast thundershowers in the next 24 hours.

The day started on a warm note with the minimum temperature settling at 29.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above average. The skies turned cloudy in the afternoon and strong winds with light drizzle made the weather pleasant in the evening.

Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season. The humidity hovered between 57 percent and 36 percent.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thundershowers in the next 24 hours.

“The skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of thundershowers and squall in some areas,” said an IMD official.

The maximum and minimum temperatures Friday will be between 38 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
