Rain cools hills of Himachal

Shimla : Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh fell sharply Friday due to widespread rains, with Shimla recording a high of 24 degrees Celsius, a fall by 2.7 degrees from Thursday.

“The entire state witnessed moderate rain with the temperatures falling two to six degrees,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.

He said most of the prominent tourist destinations like Dharamsala, Palampur, Manali, Kasauli, Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Chamba and Dalhousie witnessed rainfall, bringing down temperatures to comfortable levels.

Rain and thundershowers have been forecast in the hill state Saturday.
