New Delhi : Congress leader Digvijay Singh Sunday said activist Anna Hazare was being used by his team members to fulfill their political agenda.
He said Hazare is a very simple man and is susceptible to pressure.
“These people (Team Anna members) around him have their own political agenda…Anna is being made a scapegoat or a mask to fulfill their political agenda,” Digvijay Singh told news channel CNN-IBN.
According to him, Anna has greater credibility compared to his team members Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and Prashant Bhushan. “All three of them have got a past. Anna is being used by these people,” he added.
The Congress general secretary has been regularly taking a dig at Team Anna. On Friday, he termed Team Anna a “tubelight”, saying Hazare had earlier opposed the idea of making Lokpal a constitutional body, but now was welcoming the move.
Commenting on micro-blogging site Twitter, he added: “I am happy Raju Perulkar, Anna’s blogger, has also realized how some smart people are exploiting Anna. I also have been saying the same thing!”
He also mentioned the case of Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Devendra Dutt Mishra, who was sent to a mental hospital after he accused the state government of corruption.
“My total sympathy for Mishra… He is being sent to mental asylum for speaking the truth.
“Team Anna/BJP also want me to go to mental asylum! All with skeletons in cupboard to avoid embarrassing questions respond the same way (sic),” he said.
