Beijing : Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will visit Russia Nov 6-8, the Chinese foreign ministry said.
Wen will attend a prime ministerial meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in St. Petersburg Nov 7 and hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
A Chinese foreign ministry official said representatives of Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and a number of international organisations, will attend the talks.
Established in Shanghai in 2001, the SCO is a mutual security organisation comprising six countries — China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Mongolia, India, Pakistan and Iran are observers. Afghanistan has also applied for SCO membership.
