Club of Rome’s Indian chapter launched

New Delhi : The Indian chapter of international think tank Club of Rome, which deals with various developmental issues, was launched Wednesday and will be headed by Tata Consultancy Services vice chairman S. Ramadorai.

“The Indian Association of the Club of Rome will address the most pressing concerns of India, and the world, such as food security, the challenge of water and the need to generate ‘green jobs’ and ‘green skills’,” said Ramadorai, who also serves in the Prime Minister’s National Skill Development Council.

According to Ramadorai, the members of the elite think-tank will include professionals from business, research, science, economics, development and politics background.

The club, which was founded in 1968 as an informal association of independent leading personalities from politics, business and science, currently has 100 individual members and over 30 national and regional associations.
