During talks held Tuesday with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Noda said he was pleased Japan could help in Iraq’s development.

“We are proud of having contributed to the development of Iraq through loans and technical cooperation,” the Japanese prime minister said.

Al-Maliki was on a four-day visit to Japan that ends Wednesday.
