New Delhi : The government wants to provide a corruption free administration, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayanasamy said Thursday.
“The government is determined to provide a government that is corruption free, transparent, accountable and responsive at all times,” the minister said in the Rajya Sabha.
He said that the Right to Information was “a benchmark in transparency and accountability in government”.
The minister was responding to a question from Ravi Shankar Prasad of Bharatiya Janata Party whether the government had formulated any scheme for improving the country’s administration.
In a separate reply to Ramachandra Prasad Singh and Shivanand Tiwari, the minister said more transparency and accountability in the functioning of the government “is likely to help in containing corruption”.
