Maha minister calls minority youths to join police force

Mumbai: As the process for large-scale recruitment for Maharashtra police force has started, state minority affairs minister has urged eligible youths of minorities to apply for the police job in large numbers. The last date for applying online for the posts of police constables is 1st November 2011.

Speaking at a program organized by Maharashtra Congress on 18th Oct, state minority minister Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan made this appeal.

Applicants must be in the age group of 18-25 and must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (XIIth class).

Online application filing on http://mahapoliceonline.org/ began on 7th October 2011 and it will end on 1st November 2011. The last date of amount submission in bank is 3rd November 2011.

There are some special provisions for candidates from Naxal affected areas.

Candidates belonging to SC or children of police informants, police patils or policemen who are killed or seriously injured in Naxalite attacks or operations against Naxalites can apply even if they have only passed Class VII. But they should be residing in areas notified by the Govt as Naxalite areas and such candidates will not be entitled to transfer outside the said Naxalite areas, says the state Home Department notification dated 16th June 2011. The notification has the Maharashtra Police Constables (Recruitment) Rules 2011. These rules are applicable from the current recruitments.
