New Delhi : Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said Friday that plans were afoot to bring all wings of his ministry under one roof.
Ramesh told mediapersons in an informal chat that offices of the ministry were functioning in different buildings in Lutyen’s Delhi and discussions were being held to bring them together under one roof in a new building.
The minister, who has completed 100 days in his new office, said there was a proposal to construct an eight-story building on Curzon Road which will not only have offices of his ministry but some other social sector ministries such as panchyati raj.
The minister, who also holds the portfolio of sanitation and water supply, said that non-government organisations were taking a lot of interest in issues concerning sanitation and more funds were needed for the sector.
