Mogadishu: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opened a 50-bed mobile hospital at the Somali-Kenyan border to provide medical help to the needy in the refugee camps.
Opened as a charity initiative, the hospital will provide the diagnostic, curative and surgical services to sick children and elderly people at the refugee camps. The field hospital has 23 doctors, technicians and administrators.
The move is in line with the efforts of a charity initiative launched on the directions of Fatima bint Mubarak, chairperson of General Women’s Union and of Family Development Foundation.
The setting up of Emirates Mobile Hospital at the Somali-Kenyan Border is an extension to the humanitarian services being provided by the UAE to the victims and refugees at the camps under the directives by President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mubarak said.
