Teachers are builders of future nation: MP Chief Minister

Bhopal: The teachers are builders of future nation. Teachers make children’s lives meaningful by instilling good manners and educating them. A true teacher changes the course of life. The country needs true teachers nowadays. The objective of education is to instill education, skills and ethos of citizenship. Total knowledge should be given to children. This is why life histories of great heroes of freedom movement as well as information about agriculture, environment and nature will also be incorporated in school syllabus. These words were expressed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

He was addressing the state-level teachers’ felicitation function here on 5th Sept. in Bhopal. At the function, he honoured teachers selected for state-level awards, teachers of the state honoured with President’s Awards last year and principals of government schools achieving cent per cent results.

He said that the educational system should aim at maintaining Indian philosophy, values, traditions and manners. For this, qualitative improvement will have to be brought about in education. Sports are also necessary with education. For this, sports grounds will have to be protected.

He further said that the number of girls is declining rapidly in the country. “In view of this, “Beti Bachao Abhiyan” is being launched in the state. Teachers should also play an active part in it. World will survive only when girls survive. The State Government has decided that pension will be granted to those couples after 55 years, who have only daughters” he added.

Mr. Chouhan said that a regulatory commission will be constituted in the state for fixing the fees taken by private educational institutions. He also said that houses for teachers will also be built at the villages where schools will be constructed. Service conditions of teachers will be improved further.

Speaking at the function, School Education Minister, Mrs. Archana Chitnis said that cent per cent promotions of teacher cadre have been effected in the state. Teachers should impart education to children with sensitiveness and manners.

Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that it is the responsibility of teacher to light the lamp of knowledge to remove illiteracy. He sought cooperation of teachers in improvement in the education sector.

At the function, Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan released a folder of message for teachers and inaugurated teachers’ portal. On this occasion, groups coming out with better performance in educational symposia were also awarded. The welcome address was delivered by Director Public Instructions Mr. Ashok Varnwal.
