Suva : There was no tsunami threat to Fiji that was rocked by a massive earthquake, authorities said.
Fiji’s Department of Mineral Resources said here that a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit 453 km from the capital city Suva early Friday morning, reported Xinhua.
No casualties were immediately reported.
The department said there was no widespread tsunami threat for the island nation.
The earthquake took place at around 7.30 a.m. at a depth of 617 km in the ocean.
