Nitish speaks against terror arrest of Muslim youths

Patna: As Bihar Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad on Monday raised the issue of terror arrest of Muslim youths from the state in the Assembly and on the road, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also spoke on the issue. He objected to the arrests from different districts of Bihar without informing the state authorities, and said he would raise the issue at the conference of chief ministers.

Nitish has reportedly objected to the arrest of members of minority community from parts of Bihar (mostly Darbhanga and Madhubani) by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad and Special Cell (equivalent to ATS) of Delhi Police without informing the state authorities.

Replying to the issue raised by opposition RJD member Chandra Shekhar during zero hour in the state Assembly, CM Nitish said the state ha objections to the arrest of minority people from districts without informing the state. He further said that making arrests without informing the state police might create law and order problems.

He also objected on the terms “Darbhanga module”, “Madhubani module” and “Bihar module” being used by police of Delhi and Maharashtra ATS.

RJD on Monday also raised the issue on the road, with Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mr. Ghulam Ghaus holding a daylong dharan and protest demonstration near Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Mr. Ghaus said the sudden arrest of Bihar Muslim youths in terror cases could be a conspiracy to malign the community and the state and also to push back the minority community. He said either centre or state or both jointly could be behind the conspiracy.
