Website launched to expose cases fabricated by governments

By TCN Staff reporter,

Thiruvananthapuram: “The state is using fabricated cases as an equipment to suppress people’s defence”, says Abhay Sahu, the anti-POSCO leader and CPI national council member. He was talking at a human rights conference organised at the Thiruvananthapuram Press club on the occasion of launch of a website named fabricated.in

The website will reveal the truths behind the fabricated cases against innocent citizens including activists, Muslims and Dalits. Cases are fabricated against activists leading mass protests and ones who uphold constitutional rights for its citizens, noted Abhay Sahu.

“51 cases have been registered against me for leading the anti-POSCO movement and state fabricated 200 cases against the Koodankulam agitation leader Uday Kumar. Thousands of such fabricated cases have been registered against innocent Muslims, Dalits and other tribal inhabitants. An alliance should be formed in between all these mass agitations and to be successful it needs active participation from all sections of people”, he said.

“There are people who are still not aware regarding the fabricated cases against Abdul Nasar Madani, his 10 year long imprisonment and sufferings without being found guilty; fabricated.in is indeed a good initiative to learn regarding such fabrications”, opined MLA, Jameela Prakasham. She was the one, who first raised voice in the Kerala assembly against the second imprisonment and torturing against Madani by the Bangalore Police.

“Even the nation’s most eminent media activists are reluctant to take up the cases of such kind of human rights violations”, noted activist and Writer Mr BRP Bhaskar. He observed that Keralites though forward in many factors like literacy and gender equality, are not efficient in upholding human rights. There are many laws inherited from the British colonial rule still prevailing and denying freedom to the nation’s citizens, no government have shown interest in bringing changes in the real sense to such draconian laws, said Bhaskar.

“The Kerala society still will have to move a lot ahead, in order to assess the facts behind state fabrications against Abdul Nasar Madani”, observed senior journalist and activist Bhasurendra Babu.
