Lucknow : Three policemen were suspended in Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh Tuesday after it was found that an AK-47 assault rifle and 100 cartridges were missing from the police arsenal.
Superintendent of Police Kiran S. told IANS that this came to light Aug 10 evening during a routine check.
“We tried to locate the rifle and ammunition in the police lines and other barracks but it was not found,” another officer said. A probe has been ordered.
