11 killed in NATO chopper crash in Afghanistan

Kabul : Eleven people, including four NATO and three US soldiers, were killed Thursday when a NATO military helicopter crashed in Afghanistan’s Kandhar province, Xinhua reported.

The ISAF helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan caused deaths of four International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members, three US Forces-Afghanistan service members, three members of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), and one Afghan civilian interpreter, said a NATO statement.

“The cause of the crash is under investigation,” the statement added

Meanwhile, an Afghan official said that the helicopter crashed in Kandahar province.

“The helicopter went down in Chinarto area of Shah Wali Kot district in Kandahar province during a military operation,” a provincial official Jawid Faisal said.
