Graft: Himachal official sent to police remand

Shimla : A Himachal Pradesh court Monday sent Assistant Drug Controller Kapil Dhiman to three days’ police remand in a corruption case, an official said.

He was arrested by the vigilance and anti-corruption bureau of the state Sunday on charge of allegedly amassing illegal wealth.

Dhiman was sent to police remand by a Solan court till Dec 20, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Sharma told IANS.

During raids on properties of Dhiman and his kin in Solan, Kullu and Haryana and Punjab, the vigilance department seized documents, including fixed deposit receipts, bank papers and properties.

Officials said six phones and bottles of imported liquor were also seized.

Vigilance Additional Director-General K.C. Sadiyal said they were assessing the total worth of all the seized properties, fixed deposits and bank accounts.
