New Delhi : The condition of the 23-year-old physiotherapy student gang-raped in a bus is stable after she underwent a minor surgery, a BJP leader said Sunday after meeting her doctors and family.
Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Vijender Gupta told IANS that the doctors were doing various tests but the woman was now said to be stable.
According to Gupta, the victim’s family told him that she vomited Saturday night but her condition was now better. “The girl is recovering but … is still on bed,” he said.
B.D. Athani, medical superintendent of the Safdarjung Hospital, said: “She continues to be critical.”
Doctors had said Saturday that the rape victim was psychologically “composed and optimistic” about her future and had started communicating.
