Lucknow : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to express his views on black money stashed abroad and how to bring it back.
Replying to a question on Gandhi targeting BJP leader L.K. Advani for laughing at him when he sought constitutional status for the Lokpal, party spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said: “He has commented on our national leader Advani, who took out a 40-day Jan Chetna Yatra against corruption.”
“We want to know Rahul’s view on black money stashed in foreign banks and is he committed to bringing it back,” said Rudy.
On Robert Vadra, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law, campaigning in Uttar Pradesh polls, Rudy said: “A father gave the control of Congress party to his daughter, who gave it to her son and then it went to the daughter-in-law. Now, it is with the son and then daughter joined and now son-in-law is also joining.”
“We would certainly like to know how democracy would last with a family government,” he said.
“It (family members joining politics) is true for all political parties but Congress, being a national political party…I think the issue should be flagged at that level. I understand one or two family members (joining), but generations after generations… if this is happening then it raises a big question mark on the system of democracy,” he added.
