Kolkata : Cash-strapped West Bengal has clocked an impressive 18 percent growth in its commercial tax collection at Rs.118 billion till January this fiscal from Rs.100 billion same period last fiscal.
“This fiscal our commercial tax collection till January has risen by around 20 percent,” West Bengal Commercial Taxes Commissioner Binod Kumar said at a seminar of VAT organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry here.
Commercial tax collection stood at Rs.133.68 billion for FY11.
