Chandigarh : Cold wave conditions have abated in most parts of Punjab and Haryana but the met office here Sunday predicted rain and thundershowers in some places in both states.
Met officials here said that night temperatures have risen to average.
Amritsar was the coldest in Punjab with a maximum of 19.4 degrees Celsius and minimum of six degrees Celsius. The high was three degrees below average.
In Haryana, Hisar was the coldest Sunday with a low of 6.4 degrees, four degrees below average. The high here was 23.2 degrees, two degrees below average.
Chandigarh, which saw overcast conditions Sunday evening after a mostly sunny day, had a high and low of 21.8 and 8.9 degrees.
