Islamabad : Pakistan Monday summoned US Ambassador Richard Hoagland to lodge a protest over a US Congress resolution on the people of Balochistan’s right to self-determination.
“Ambassador Hoagland was told in clear terms that the move in the US Congress was contrary to the spirit of friendly relations and violative of the principles of the United Nations Charter, international law and recognized norms of inter-state conduct,” Xinhua reported, quoting a foreign ministry statement.
He was asked to convey the serious concern of the Pakistani government to the US Administration, the statement said.
Dana Rohrabacher, chairman of the Sub-Committee on Oversight and Investigations of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee, Friday introduced a resolution in support of human rights victims in Balochsitan.
