Aligarh: Professor M. Shamim Jairajpuri, INSA Scientist in the Zoology Department, Aligarh Muslim University has been felicitated with the Life-time Achievement Award in Helminthology for his monumental research work on Nematodes at the 22nd All India Congress of Zoology organized by the Zoological Society of India in Lucknow.
The Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University, Professor M.K. Mishra gave away the award to Prof Jairajpuri. He also delivered a lecture in the plenary session entitled “Nematodes and Human Welfare”.

The Punjab University, Chandigarh has also felicitated Prof Jairajpuri on his 50 years of research in Nematology and invited him to deliver its prestigious N.K. Gupta Memorial Lecture-2011 on “Nematode Biodiversity”. The award along with a cash prize was presented to Professor Jairajpuri by the Punjab University Vice Chancellor, Dr. R. C. Sobti.
