Kabul: Suspected Taliban militants launched a massive attack at a check-post in southern Afghanistan’s Helmand province in which at least five policemen and 22 militants were killed, Xinhua reported.
The attack that began around 3 a.m. in Regi area of Musa Qala district lasted for four hours, provincial spokesman Daud Ahmadi said.
Several militants fled the scene after additional forces arrived.
Six policemen were injured in the clash.
The Taliban did not make any comment.
