Beijing : Beijing’s Mayor Guo Jinlong resigned from his post Wednesday following a meeting of the city’s municipal congress.
His deputy Ji Lin also resigned after the 34th session of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress standing committee, China Daily reported.
Wang Anshun and Li Shixiang have been appointed as deputy mayors, with Wang as acting mayor. On July 3, Guo was elected secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee.
