Ranchi : Police Friday claimed to have seized large quantities of detonators and gelatin sticks from two districts in Jharkhand.
An official in the police headquarters here said 1,130 detonators were seized from a house at Nawadih village in Koderma district, around 170 km from Ranchi. One person was arrested.
The arrested person revealed that the detonators were to be sold to people involved in illegal mining.
Police also seized 55 gelatin sticks from Ghatshila locality in Jamshedpur, 160 Km from Ranchi. Police recovered the sticks on a tip-off provided by an arrested Maoist.
