Guwahati : Two hardcore cadres of the United Liberation Front of Asom’s (ULFA) anti-talk faction have been arrested from Assam’s Dibrugarh district, police said Tuesday.
A grenade and an improvised explosive device (IED) were recovered from the two cadres, arrested Monnday, police said. The duo has been identified as Bhaimon Sangmai and Diganta Gogoi.
Police said the two militants have confessed that they were assigned to carry out subversive activities in the district by the outfit’s top brass.
Sangmai had earlier surrendered to police but rejoined the outfit, police said.
While Sangmai hails from Moran in the district, Gogoi hails from Kakopathar in Tinsukia district, police said.
