Moscow : Police have detained at least 20 activists in Moscow as they attempted to hold an unsanctioned rally, the interior ministry said.
The protesters were detained Thursday near Pushkinskaya Square, a ministry spokesman said.
Earlier in the day, seven activists of the Solidarity opposition movement were detained near Red Square.
Many groups have been protesting against president-elect Vladimir Putin’s election. The prime minister won the March 4 presidential polls with over 63 percent of the vote.
