Career guidance camp held for rural Muslim students in Maldah

Kolkata: After Secondary (Madhyamik) and Senior Secondary Examination, students in rural areas or of poor background have not much idea about suitable and employable courses. To help such students, a career counseling camp was held at Kazi Nazrul Bhawan in Kaliachak of Maldah district on 8th May 2012. Thecamp was organized by Kaliachak unit of Students Islamic Organization of India.

Thecareer counseling camp had experienced teachers, educationists and intellectuals. How to select a better course and the perspective of career counseling were elaborately discussed in the camp. A large number of students those who are studying either Secondary or Senior secondary level were present to get valuable advice from the professionals like Dr. Manwar Hossain, lecturer of B.V.H College & Hospital, Computer Engineer Masud Asraf, Former guest lecturer Mr Haziqul Alam, Teacher of New Farakka High School Rafiqul Islam. They also advised the present students about what to do and what not.Students were given guidance for professional courses like Medical, Engineering, Polytechnic and also academic in the first ever career camp in Kaliachak by SIO. Except a few girls, most of students were boys.

Besides the professionals, SIO leaders including West Bengal State Campus Secretary Mafiqul Islam, Campus secretary of Malda district Golam Rabbani, President of Malda district Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Zillur Rahmanwere also present at thecareer camp.
