By TCN Special Correspondent,

Lucknow: Two groups clashed outside Asafi Imambara after Namaz-e-Juma in old city of Lucknow on Friday. The clash is fallout of the ongoing tussle between Imam-e-Juma Maulana Kalbe Jawwad and Chairman, Shia Central Board of Waqfs, Syed Waseem Rizvi.

As per reports, a group of people reached Asafi Imambara after Namaz-e-Juma and raised slogans against Kalbe Jawwad. Eyewitnesses claimed that they had arrived to attack Kalbe Jawwad. However, large number of Namazis present at Imambara caught them. All of them barring one fled from the scene. The one caught has been identified as Arif. He was given good bashing by the people. They also left behind a vehicle which was also damaged by people.

Later, President, Hussaini Tigers, Shameel Shamsi registered an FIR with Chowk police station against Abid, Izhar, Twinkle, Arif and two others.

On the other hand, Waseem Rizvi disowned his involvement in the act.

The tussle between Jawwad had reached its nadir with Rizvi demanding a CBI probe against Jawwad for sale of grave land in Imambara Ghufran Maab which is under the control of Jawwad. On the other hand Jawwad had demanded dissolution of Shia Waqf Board.
