Shimla: The hills of Himachal Pradesh continued to sizzle Saturday with Una recording a maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius and the state capital Shimla a high of 27.9 degrees Celsius, according to the weather office here.
“Most of the towns recorded a maximum temperature of three to six notches above the average, mainly due to prevailing dry weather,” an official of the meteorological office here told IANS.
He said Shimla’s maximum temperature was 5.8 notches above what is the average for this time of the season. The town recorded a low of 19.6 degrees.
Picturesque tourist resort Manali was warm at 28.9 degrees Celsius while Dharamsala was hot at 33.2 degrees Celsius. Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw the maximum of 22.5 degrees Celsius. These towns recorded the minimum temperatures respectively of 12.4 degrees, 22.7 degrees and 10.5 degrees.
The Met department has forecast mainly dry weather Sunday.
