Maulana Azad remembered

Lucknow: On the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) celebrated Azad and National Education day at UP Press Club on Sunday.

While addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (Bareilly), Professor Mohammad Muzammil highlighted works and vision of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and described him as a pioneer of education system in India.



He said that Maulana Azad played vital role in the establishment of national education system in the country and for improving quality in the present educational system we should follow his footsteps.

“Maulana Azad never differentiated among Male and Female at every level specially when it come to attain education. His role in the education for women in the country cannot be ruled out,” he added.

Additional Advocate General (UP), Zafaryab Jilani said Maulana Azad was not only remembered as a great freedom fighter but also as an eminent educationist in the country. “Being promoter of education among the citizens and he became the first education minister of independent India. After which he continued his services to country by strengthening the educational system,” he added.

He shared that we should not forget the efforts of Maulana Azad and should follow his works and policies for promoting education amongst the people, which has larger contribution to the development of nation.
In-charge, MANUU, Lucknow campus, Dr Abdul Quddoos in his welcome address mentioned that Maulana Azad always stood for education which should lead to the progress of the country.

Prof Sharib Rudaulvi and Prof Naseer Ahmad Khan from JNU, Ashfaque Hussain (Canada) and Arif Naqvi (Germany) also offered their tributes to the legendary figure and recalled Maulana Azad’s outstanding contribution in the field of education.
