MIM withdraws support to UPA Govt.

Hyderabad: “Will meet the president of India soon to withdraw our support as a protest,” announced Majlis-e-Itehadul-Muslimeen president Assaduddin Owaisi in press conference at party headquarter Darulsalam here today.

The relations between two parties have soured in past few weeks over the expansion of the Bhagya Laxmi temple row, next to Charminar.

MIM President today withdrew support from the Congress government.

Yesterday most of MIM leaders were briefly detained when, MIM MLAs, along with party floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, tried to head towards Charminar for inspection. They were stopped at Mughalpura area and was taken into preventive detention along with four other MLAs.

The controversial Bhagya Lakshmi Mandir, adjacent to the Charminar was allegedly expanded as part of decoration work before Deepavali.

‘Congress is going to be dump,’ added Assaduddin. He also hinted at possible tie up with Jagan Reddy. “MIM will take a tour in whole Andhra pradesh to make sure congress bite dust in 2014,” announced the MIM President.
He accused the Congress government in the state of acting in collusion with the Sangh parivar and alleged them to be anti-Muslims.
