Srinagar : In a hit and run attack, separatist guerrillas shot at a security guard of a ruling National Conference politician in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Constable Mushtaq Ahmed Mulla was critically injured when guerrillas opened fire at him in Baramulla market, a senior police officer told IANS.
“The injured constable has been sent for treatment to Srinagar, where attending doctors have described his condition as critical,” he said.
“The constable was deployed as a personal security guard of NC politician Irfan Ahmed Bandey,” he said.
Bandey was reportedly inside a shop in the market when guerrillas fired at his guard, who was sitting inside his vehicle, he added.
