New Delhi : Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh Friday directed the aviation regulator to institute a forum for redressal of complaints of harassment filed by pilots who give in-service examinations.
The civil aviation ministry in a statement said the step has been taken keeping in view a large number of complaints of favoritism and harassment in various in-service examinations conducted by examiners of airlines for their pilots.
According to the statement, Ajit Singh directed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to immediately propose an institutional mechanism so that the candidates who are not satisfied with their results may get a proper forum for redressal.
“The DGCA has also been asked to issue detailed guidelines in this regard which may be incorporated in the civil aviation requirements (CAR),” the statement said.
The airline’s examiners are selected under criteria set by DGCA and conduct skill test of instrument rating (IR) and proficiency checks of co-pilot and commanders on aircraft and simulators.
