Mumbai: An unbeaten 110-run partnership between captain Alistair Cook (batting 87) and Kevin Pietersen (batting 62) helped England reach 178 for two at stumps on day two of the second cricket Test against India at the Wankhede Stadium here Saturday.
Pietersen and Cook rescued England from a precarious score of 77 for two at tea and ended the final session of the day without losing any wickets.
Pragyan Ojha accounted for both the English wickets to fall in the day. England still trail by 149 runs after India were bowled out for 327 in the morning session.
