Bhopal: With the crack of dawn soon after the Fajir Namaz the three-day 65th “Aalami Tablighi Ijtima” (World Preachers’ Congregation) began here on the outskirts of Bhopal at Ghasipura in Eintkhedi village on Saturday as followers of Islam in thousands thronged the venue in quest of salvation in “Akhirat” (Life Hereafter).

Prominent “Akabreens” (Tablighi elders), who will address the gatherings, arrived here from Delhi Markaz (headquarters) by Bhopal Express. Those who reached here include: Maulana Zubair, Maulana Sa’ad, Maulana Mustaqueem, Maulana Shareef, Maulana Yunus, Maulana Ahmed Laat, Maulana Shaukat, Maulana Yousuf, Maulana Ismail, Maulana Chirghuddin etc.

On the first day sermons were delivered by Maulana Shareef after Fajir Namaz in the morning, Maulana Mustaqueem after Zohar Namaz in the afternoon, Maulana Zohair after Asr Namaz and Maulana Sa’ad after Maghrib Namaz.

Maulana Mohammad Mustaqueem, one of the Tablighi leaders, delivering his sermon after Zohar Namaz said that Muslims who lay undue stress on materialism are not successful in life and lead a life of animals which is devoid of spiritualism. The real success in life and Hereafter is in following the diktats of Almighty Allah as practiced by Huzoor Muhammad (PBUH).

Maulana Shareef delivering sermon after Fajir Namaz exhorted Muslims to recognise their Creator Allah and realise His power. He urged Muslims to ponder over Allah’s creations in the Universe in order to know Him and realise His might.

Around 300 foreigners in various Jamaats (Groups of devotees) from about 25 countries have descended here in Bhopal to participate in the “Aalami Tablighi Ijtima”. They along with other Muslims have converged in the path of Allah to learn the basic tenets of Islam to lead an upright life while balancing well between spiritualism and materialism.

Tablighi Jamaat is a religious reformist movement, strictly non-political in nature, with the main aim of reaching out to all Muslims of the world for their spiritual development. The religious movement was founded in the late 1920s by Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Kandhalawi in the Mewat province of India. He put forward the slogan, “Aye Musalmano! Musalman bano” (‘O Muslims! Become Muslims’). ([email protected])
