CRPF trooper killed in Srinagar attack

Srinagar : A trooper was killed in this Jammu and Kashmir summer capital Thursday when militants attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp.

The incident took place late Tuesday when militants fired at the camp in Bemina locality. “Troops at the camp returned the fire forcing the militants to withdraw,” Sudhir Kumar, public relations officer of the CRPF, told IANS.

“One of our constables was injured in the exchange of gunfire. He later passed away while being evacuated to a hospital.”

No militant group has owned responsibility for the attack.
