Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University Thursday suspended three students for allegedly trying to harass women students, beating up staff and firing gun shots in the campus earlier this week.

The university has also ordered an inquiry into the incident and lodged a police complaint against Shahnawaz Hasan Khan, Arpit Maheshwari and Shadab Alam and another person.

According to a notification, the trio allegedly entered the law department Nov 26 and tried to harass some women students. They then beat them up the staff on duty and fired with a country-made pistol to terrorise those present.
