Hong Kong company launches Android tablets

Kochi: Hong Kong based tablet PC maker EKEN Electronics Thursday launched its Android tablets in the country, here.

EKEN unveiled its Android tablets in the market under the brand name of EKEN Leopard. The tablets are priced between Rs.6,900-Rs.11,999.

“India is an exploding market with a huge potential for cost-effective tablets. This factor prominently influenced us to launch quality budget tablets in India and this will enable computing advantage to everyone,” said Edison Chang, CEO, EKEN Electronics, to reporters here.

EKEN Leopard tablet PCs are Android tablets which support Google play store which has 500,000 plus applications suitable for all the needs of the customers.

All models come with eight GB internal storage. EKEN has a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calling, and 7-inch, 8-inch, 9.7- inch size and 3G and GPS models are available. It has 1080P HD video play back capabilities.

EKEN Electronics has a major presence in Europe and America and soon will be expanding to other emerging countries. It has special focus on schools, educational institutions in India.

The newly launched product comes in sleek and slim design, weighs only 230 grams and is available in the market from Thursday on.
