Yangon : Myanmar President U Thein Sein Sunday left for a three-day official visit to South Korea, his office said.
His visit comes following an invitation from his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak, Xinhua reported.
U Thein Sein is accompanied by five ministers, including Foreign Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin. Trade and investment, human-to-human exchange and development aid are on agenda.
South Korea has invested nearly $3 billion in Myanmar since 1988. Bilateral trade reached $970 million in 2011.
Myanmar figures show that bilateral trade in the first four months (April-July) of the fiscal year 2012-13 reached $158 million.
