New Delhi: Over 800 cases related to electricity bills, involving more than Rs.2.5 crore, were settled at a special lok adalat held here by the Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Saturday.
“In this special lok adalat, 12 special benches were constituted exclusively at the Saket court complex and any consumer having disputes could walk in for on-the-spot settlement of his/her dispute,” said a DLSA spokesperson.
A total number of 866 cases were taken up in the special electricity lok adalat out of which 817 cases were settled, involving an amount of Rs.2.56 crore.
The special lok adalat will be conducted Sunday as well.
Apart from the special electricity lok adalat, separate lok adalats were also organised in the six district court complexes.
More than 4,113 cases relating to cheque dishonour case, civil, traffic, criminal compoundable offences, recovery matters, matrimonial cases and electricity bills were disposed of Saturday, the spokesperson said.
