President heads to West Bengal for Durga Puja

New Delhi : In a nostalgia-filled trip, President Pranab Mukherjee heads to his ancestral village in West Bengal’s Birbhum district Saturday for the Durga puja celebrations.

This will be the first time after taking over as president that Mukherjee will be worshipping his family deity as the ‘chief priest’.

Mukherjee will Saturday also inaugurate a school building of Mirati Junior High School at Mirati (in Birbhum district), the president’s office said here.

On Monday, the president will attend a felicitation ceremony organised by Kirnahar Shib Chandra High School at Kirnahar where he will inaugurate an exhibition on “Pranab’s School – School’s Pranab”.
