UP cop accuses seniors of corruption

Lucknow : An Uttar Pradesh Police officer Monday alleged that top officers of the force were corrupt. The state police chief dismissed his allegations as baseless and wild.

V.K. Sharma, posted as deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in the 38th Battalion of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) in Aligarh, charged Director General of Police A.C. Sharma and Etah Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Mohan Sharma with seeking money for every work that was brought to them.

Sharma alleged that he was being harassed with frequent transfers and the Etah SSP was working under pressure of workers of the ruling Samajwadi Party.

The police chief’s office lashed out at the DSP and accused him of “speaking a bundle of lies”.

In a statement issued by the public relations officer of the police chief, it was said that the the DSP was making “false and wild allegations”.

The statement said that in the past too the DSP had misbehaved with seniors and had been careless in work. Sharma was suspended earlier for indiscipline.
