Lucknow: Junior doctors in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh resorted to violence, damaged cars and thrashed people, forcing police to cane charge them, after some of their colleagues were bashed by relatives of a patient who died during treatment, officials said.

Violence broke out in the BRD medical college in Gorakhpur when news spread that some medics were bashed by relatives of a patient, who died earlier in the day.
