New Delhi: A group of people broke into a State Bank of India branch in the national capital in the early hours of Saturday but fled after failing to unlock the ATM placed inside, police said.
CCTV footage from the bank in Inderlok showed three to four people inside the branch around 1 a.m.
Police said they had entered the bank after cutting open the iron grill of a ventilator.
After they were unable to unlock the ATM, they tried to break it open and also damaged four of the five CCTV cameras.
Police said no valuable was stolen from the branch which had closed down around 7 p.m. Friday.
The incident comes a day after robbers fled with Rs 5.5 crore of ICICI Bank from a cash van in Defence Colony, after shooting at a guard.
