Pir of Furfura Sharif passed away

Kolkata: Veteran Islamic cleric & Pir of Furfura sharif, Hooghly of West Bengal Maulana Abul Farah Siddique is no more. He passed away on March 30th, 2013 and was buried on April 1st. Maulana Farah was the grandson of Pir Abu Bakar Siddiqu whose mazar is in Furfura Sharif. Abu Bakr Siddique was a 19th century Sufi saint who is famous for his work in the area of social reform and education.

At age 76, Farah Saheb was suffering from various diseases. He was admitted in a local private Nursing Home. He leave behind his wife, three daughters and two sons.

HIis Namaz E Janaza was held on 1st April, 2013, 2pm at his native village Sitapur.

Director of Furfura Darbar Sharif Pirzada Taha Siddique said, we have lost a great personality. He was most senior among the present Pirs of Furfura Sharif. More than 50 Thousand people attended the Namaz –e-Janaza (funeral prayers).
