New Delhi : The BJP Friday pledged to provide houses to the capital’s 40 lakh slum dwellers if it wins the November Delhi assembly election.
Accusing the Congress of betraying the slum dwellers, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party president Vijay Goel said “each and every slum dweller” would be given a house in the event of his party’s victory.
The BJP will organise a rally for slum dwellers here Sunday, he said.
“There are 685 slum clusters in Delhi which have over 40 lakh inhabitants. They have been cheated for the last 15 years by the Congress government,” Goel said.
“The houses will be made though public-private partnership model,” he added.
Goel also promised electricity, water and cooking gas at affordable rates to the slum dwellers.
