102 dengue cases found in Chinese province

    Beijing: A total of 102 cases of dengue fever, an infectious tropical disease transmitted by a mosquito bite, have been reported in China’s Yunnan province since last Thursday, Xinhua reported.

    The cases, found in Dai prefecture of Xishuangbanna, include four imported cases, the the local government office said Tuesday, while urging local residents to kill mosquitoes to prevent the disease.

    Dengue’s symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash that is similar to measles.
